Somehow I ended up without pictures of Thanksgiving this year! Luckily, Jesse had this one on his phone. Dad & Lali (Jesse's dad & step-mom) went out of town, and we decided not to travel up north because of the cold and baby. The McFaddens invited us over, and it was such a fun twist on the holiday!! It was their tradition to cook together as a family the night before. So that's what we did! Everyone participated... Emma cut celery for the dressing with a plastic knife, Spencer made dressing, Jesse and I worked on yams, and whatever other cutting/peeling Rosemary needed, and Dave McFadden is a famous pie-maker... so he gave a special lesson to the boys! They each got to make a small one of their own to take home that night. We ended the evening sipping hot cocoa by the fire and sharing special memories. Dave and Rosemary said that was how they spent all their Thanksgiving holidays- and they would always end by delivering some extra pies to neighbors who might need some cheer. We decided we are going to continue this tradition as a family. It added so much more meaning!
